No question: 13 Going on 30 could have aimed higher, but it hits the target at which it carefully points.. Like Hanks in Big, and Jamie Lee Curtis in Freaky Friday, Jennifer Garner is funny and endearing .... A lot fresher than its premise, largely because of the terrific casting.. If 13 Going on 30 isn't exactly original, it's still reasonably cool, thanks to Garner's uninhibited portrayal of a nerd trapped in a Sex and the City body, and to the inspired casting of Mark Ruffalo as the grown-up ...
